About Our Youth Ministry

STF YTH is more than a program– it’s a community! Every week middle schoolers and high schoolers get the opportunity to hear the gospel and grow in relationships.  STF YTH exists to partner with families to help middle school and high school students find and follow Jesus. We do this by reaching students where they are, raising them to be mature followers of Jesus, and releasing them into the world to make an impact for the gospel’s sake.

YTH Nights

Yth Nights now occur on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Youth Room at the Ballast Point Campus.

These nights are designed to reach, raise, and release teenagers. They’re made up of fun games, high-energy worship, and a biblically based message that helps students apply Scripture to their own lives. Every night is a party, so bring a friend!

YTH Community Groups

We believe that Jesus didn’t just save us from our sins but for a life lived with family. STF Yth has two different types of groups: Middle School Bible Studies and High School Community Groups. Middle School Bible Studies occur at our Ballast Point Campus during the 11:00 AM service on the third floor. High School Community Groups occur in homes across South Tampa on Sunday nights.

    YOUR STUDENT'S SAFETY

We take the safety of our children and students very seriously.  South Tampa Fellowship upholds the highest standards in screening and training our team. All volunteers with kids and students are known individuals within the church who have completed a criminal background check, child abuse awareness training, and a personal safety screening. Additionally, no adult is permitted to work alone in any setting with a minor.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can my student attend STF YTH even if my family does not attend STF?

Yes! Everyone is welcome at STF Yth! One of our primary desires is to partner with families as they seek to help their teenagers find ands follow Jesus. As such, we encourage students to worship with their family and to attend youth group at their church if it is available. However, we understand that different circumstances do not allow this. Therefore, our ministry is specifically designed to be a welcoming environment for anyone!

Who is working with my teenager?

The leadership of STF Yth is made up of church staff members as well as adult volunteers from within the STF Church Family. All staff members and volunteers are required to complete a background check prior to their involvement with STF Yth. In addition to this, we train all of our leaders in various skills and competencies related to ministering to teenagers. You can find more information about the Youth Staff here.

    How can parents get involved?

We love parents! Without parent and volunteer involvement, the ministry could not function, so we encourage parental involvement. In compliance with our church policies, all volunteers must complete background checks before becoming involved in a leadership role in the ministry. Please talk to the STF YTH Team about getting this or contact us at students@stfchurch.com.

    Volunteer Opportunities

We are always looking for volunteers who can come alongside us to help students find and follow Jesus. There are many ways that you can get involved at STF Yth based on your personal availability.

    REPORT SUSPICIOUS OR INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR.

South Tampa Fellowship believes that, as Christians, we all have a moral and ethical responsibility to report alleged or potential abuse of children.

All staff and volunteers are asked to report ‘grooming’ behavior, policy violations, and other suspicious behavior. Upon receiving a report, a designated team will convene to review the claims, evaluate any immediate needs for medical services or law enforcement action, and consult proper legal counsel to ensure the proper next steps are taken. The team will work with all appropriate parties to develop a safety and support plan for any child or children involved and their families.
