Petra Trip

This is an add-on at the beginning of the trip (April 28-May 1).

Sunday (April 28, 2024) – Arrive in Israel

The group arrives and checks in for one night in Jerusalem (on their own). Some people like to arrive two days earlier to get over jet lag.

Monday (April 29, 2024 ) – JORDAN: MT. NEBO / PETRA, JORDAN
This morning, we depart Israel for Jordan via the Allenby Bridge.  We will be met and assisted through the border crossing.  We travel to Mt. Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land and where today we enjoy a breathtaking view of Israel and the Jordan River.  Following this visit, we continue to Machaerus (Mukawir), where we view the ruins of the fortress of Herod the Great and where John the Baptist was beheaded by his successor, Herod Antipas.  The rest of the day, we head straight to Petra.

Tuesday (April 30, 2024) – PETRA
After breakfast, we walk over to the entrance to Petra, a 2000-year-old Nabatean city.  Walking about a mile and a half through the narrow cliffs, we enter the impressive city of Petra.  We take as much time as needed to visit all of Petra.  When ready, we head back to the hotel for dinner and overnight in Petra.

Wednesday (May 01, 2024) PETRA / Galilee
This morning, we travel back to the border crossing, where our agent will meet and assist us in checking in one night in Tel Aviv – Meet with all of the group at Dinner Time.

Travel Notes

All travelers are responsible for covering their travel accommodations in/out of Israel. The trip cost covers travel once in the country. Please note there is a team dinner on May 10, and the airport is one hour from Jerusalem. Experience would suggest travelers shouldn’t plan to fly out before 11 pm, May 10th.

If Petra is added to the trip’s beginning, travelers are responsible for Hotel accommodations on April 28.
