Food For Thought for the week of August 2, 2020 PDF VERSION
Food for Thought
For the week of August 2, 2020
(Questions and Scriptures for further study & discussion)
NOTE TO LEADERS: We highly recommend that each week men and women break up into two groups for a time of reflection, prayer requests, and prayer.
WHAT’S YOUR HIGHLIGHT?
Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything you heard for the first time or something that caught your attention, challenged or confused you?
WHAT’S YOUR STORY?
Discuss the following quotation:
“If revival in this land depended on your prayers, your faith, your obedience, would we ever experience revival?” Del Fehsenfeld Jr
DIGGING DEEPER
1. Pastor JJ said that only the Holy Spirit can start a spiritual revival. The first step is to begin to pray. Read Acts 4:23-31. How are your prayers in crisis like and unlike this prayer?
2. In 2 Kings 22-23, Josiah not only heard the Word of the Lord, he acted on it by “cleaning up.” In what area of your life do you feel God wants you to act on his Word and make changes?
3. Silently consider any confession you need to make to yourself, God or others. If you would like, share your thoughts with this group.
After taking prayer requests, close with a time of prayer.
