GOD’S SOVEREIGNTY

Opening Worship: “Authority” (Elevation Worship)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFwbU-Sf_Bo

“Remember this and stand firm, recall it to mind, you transgressors, remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,’ …” — Isaiah 46:8-10

“This is what the LORD says: ‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be? Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?’ declares the LORD. ‘These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.’” — Isaiah 66:1-2 (NIV)

Your holy God is the ultimate source of all power and authority. He is the Creator of everything that exists in heaven and on earth. There is absolutely nothing that happens in life that is outside His influence and authority. He is Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, and desires to be Lord of your life. He is omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent, and seated. God plans and governs all things. You can be still and know that God is in control! He is for you, and nothing and no one can stand against you!

Prayer Prompt: Begin by praying God’s Word aloud and acknowledging that He is sovereign and seated on His throne. Ask God to remove any fear, doubt, anxiety, or uncertainty you may have in any area of your life that is preventing you from resting in Him as your Firm Foundation. Reflect on those times or seasons when He has revealed Himself and His plan for you, and give Him praise and thanksgiving. Worship the One seated on the throne of your heart for who He is and receive the blessed assurance that He is working all things together for good for you because He loves you.

Additional Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11-14, Romans 8:28, 1 Timothy 6:13-16, Jude 1:24-25, Revelation 21:6

Journal: Take a few moments to reflect on and note what God is showing you through His Word about Himself and how it applies to you.
