“There is no one holy like the LORD; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.” — 1 Samuel 2:2 (NIV)

“Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him. Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.” — 1 Chronicles 16:29 (NIV)

“My mouth will speak in praise of the LORD. Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever.” — Psalm 145:21 (NIV)

There is no one like your holy God. He is Creator of all things, perfect in every way, morally pure, completely sinless, and unmatched by any other being or thing in the universe. He is holy, righteous, unconditionally good, and all-powerful. How can you begin to comprehend the holiness of God? Remember the magi who followed the star all the way to Bethlehem, rejoicing exceedingly with great joy, and fell to the ground and worshiped Jesus. Although you, like the magi, may not have full understanding of His holiness, you can still respond by beholding, worshiping, and adoring Him.

Prayer Prompt: Begin by praying God’s Word aloud and acknowledging His holiness and righteousness, and that He is worthy of all glory, honor, and praise. Ask God to remove any sin or doubt in your heart and mind that is preventing you from seeing Him as completely holy and worthy. Be still and simply behold Him. Invite Him to reveal His holiness and to restore childlike awe and wonder in you. Take time to worship your holy God, and offer yourself completely to Him in praise and adoration.

Additional Scripture: Psalm 29:1-2, Psalm 96:8-9, Psalm 99:9, Luke 1:35, Matthew 2:9-11

Journal: Take a few moments to reflect on and note what God is showing you through His Word about Himself and how it applies to you.
