“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8 (NIV)
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” — 1 John 3:1 (NIV)
“How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.” — Psalm 36:7 (NIV)
God’s unfailing love for us is an objective fact affirmed over and over in the Scriptures. It is true whether we believe it or not. Our doubts do not destroy God’s love, nor does our faith create it. It originates in the very nature of God, who is love, and it flows to us through our union with His beloved Son. — Jerry Bridges
God demonstrated His love for us by sending His only Son to die on the cross for our sins so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. Are you overwhelmed by God’s unfailing love toward you today? God is your loving Father who knows and cares about every detail of your life, and loves you completely, personally, and unconditionally. His love toward you is unshakeable, unfailing, and constant, and endures forever.
Prayer Prompt: Begin by praying God’s Word (above verses) aloud. Praise God for His unfailing love that He lavishes on you. Confess to God any doubt that hinders you from grasping His great love for you. Thank God for inviting you into His throne room and for the ways He demonstrates His unfailing love toward you. Reflect on times in your own life when you have experienced His unfailing and enduring love. Ask God to open your eyes to see more of who He is — that is, His character and attributes, and to help you truly know Him as a loving Father who desires an intimate relationship with you. Be still in His presence and listen, and let God love you!
